Web Design: How It Works

When you are ready to get started on building a new website:

  • After a brief phone call with us, we email you a written agreement.
  • You print, sign, and send to us with the retainer of 50% of the design fee.
  • You send us the text for the home page, and any desired pictures (including a logo if you have one).

The site creation process goes like this:

  1. For our Pre-Designed sites, you choose one of our existing designs - See www.profitgate.net/portfolio.php. For our Custom designed site, you and a Profit Gate designer have a detailed discussion (in person or by phone) so we understand exactly what you want for your site.
  2. We create a mockup of the homepage (just a picture).
  3. You request changes to the first mockup and we do those.
  4. You request final changes to the second mockup and we do those.
  5. The 3rd mockup is then used to create the site pages, we use any pictures you provide, and your text.
  6. You send us any pictures and your desired text for all other pages of the site.
  7. The finished site is shown to you and you may request final minor changes which we make.
  8. You approve the site to go online.
  9. We publish the site.
